Daily beauty essentials

Someone asked me to blog about my daily beauty essentials. So here it is….

Beauty products in my make up bag that I can’t live without:

1) BB cream – Smashbox $42.00

I bought this BB cream from Ulta after spending about 30 minutes testing the different creams. I’ve tested foundation and other products but the BB cream was the best for me. It made me glow and covered my blemishes.

2) Bronzer – Tarte Park Avenue Princess $30

I was always a fan of NARS but I wanted to try something different. This bronzer is long lasting and blended so well with my BB cream color so I had to get it.

3) Brush – Ecotools $5.08

This brush is great. I use it to apply my BB cream. It’s soft but stiff enough to blend the BB cream.

4) Hairbrush – Wet brush $6.98

This is a MUST HAVE. I bought this at a hair salon one day for $15. I love it because it gets through my tangled dead hair. It made it soft and less painful to brush. I recommended it to my friend and she said that her hair doesn’t fall out anymore! This to go brush is perfect for those mid-day touch ups. I found this mini one for $4 at Marshalls.

5) Lip balm – Revlon Matte Balm 225 Sultry $8.99

I am obsessed with Revlon’s lip balm. I have almost every color. I’ve never tried the matte before because I didn’t want my lips to look dry. However, this matte color moistens the lips and stays long. You can find it cheaper at Target.

6) Perfume – Ralph Lauren Big Pony Pink #2 $21

I love the sweet smell of this perfume. It’s the perfect size to fit almost every purse.

What are your favorite beauty products ?

Christmas @ Washington Crossing

On Christmas Day in 1776, Washington led his troops on a daring attack across the Delaware River.

I decided to do something different this year and participated in this free re-enactment to commemorate this event along with hundreds of people. The event started at 1:00pm but I got there by 12:10. The parking lots were full and people started to park anywhere. I arrived just in time to get a good view. I recommend to go early for a good spot and you might want to bring a chair and your best camera.

Check out my photos:

I hope everyone had a great Christmas celebration!

Kendra Scott Favorites

Hey readers!

I’m posting about my favorite Kendra Scott jewelry. My choices are the Elle and the Dani earrings and the Elisa necklace.

The Danielle earrings are the most popular but it was too heavy for my ear lopes. The Elle is just perfect for me. These styles are simple and classic for most occasions. I use this guide from Nordstrom before I make my online purchase.

I want to try the Ellie earrings next and they’re on sale for less than $34 here

(Elle)

(Dani) – a little smaller with a different shape but put perfect for a casual outfit.

I didn’t think I would like the Elisa necklace because it was too small but it’s actually a great everyday necklace.

Philly girl goes to Nashville

Hey Ya’ll,

I went to visit my best friend, Samantha in Nashville for Thanksgiving. I’ve never been to the Music City before. I love the good food, music, and positive vibes! I’ll definitely be back.

Explore: Downtown Nashville- booze, music, and southern food.    Batman Building!

Downtown is also where the Johnny Cash Museum and the Country Music Hall of Fame are located.

You can even see the Titans’ stadium  from downtown.

The famous Tootsies! Live music on all three floors! We ordered food there and I loved their BBQ pulled pork sandwich, fried pickles, and fried string beans.

Shop: Boutiques everywhere especially at the Golch! My favorite boutique was Blush because it was affordable and more of my style. However, I did like Two Old Hippies because they had a live band at the back of the store and E.Allen because I got an awesome reversible poncho that I wore the next day. Sam and I bought it because it was too cute and 20% off because of Small Business Saturday. Everyone complimented the poncho everywhere I went that day and I had a conversation with at least one person at every store because they were all so friendly!

I had to stop by the Green Hills shopping center too. We had to go to the Kendra Scott store because Sam and I are obsessed with her stuff. Everything in the store was 15% off and they gave us complimentary champagne. I purchased a turquoise ring and the Elisa necklace in white. The ladies were so helpful and sweet. It was a great experience.

(The poncho)

Vineyard vines! I bought a plain long sleeve t-shirt that had Nashville on the back and two complimentary VV stickers.

Food: I love food and every spot we checked out was so good. At night we went to 12 South. We went to Urban Grub, Embers Ski Lodge, and Bartaco. We had delicious tacos at Bartaco. I ordered the duck, spicy chorizo, and sesame ribeye. All of my tacos were really good but I was told that the pork belly and the Baja fish were the favorites.

Biscuit love was my first brunch stop. You order your food in line, then they’ll show you to your table. I order the Southern hot chicken one called the Princess. Sam ordered the Southern Benny.

I had it without the mustard. It was sweet and spicy because of the honey.

My favorite brunch place was the famous, Loveless Cafe.

Sam was told that the wait would be long but we went on a Monday afternoon and the wait was only 5 minutes. I wanted everything on the menu. Of course we ordered breakfast food. I got the Pit-cooked Pork BBQ and two eggs with home fried potatoes. Sam ordered the Biscuit Sampler – which I highly recommend so you can have a little of everything!

Pecan, chess, and fudge pie for dessert!  I ended up buying their jam from the airport but you can always order it online!

Until next time, Nashville!

Thanksgiving food delivery

It’s the holiday to give thanks as we spend time with family and friends. I had the opportunity to volunteer at one of my favorite organizations, City team ministries with my mentor and friends. With the help from many volunteers, they delivered over 900 food boxes and turkeys to needy families in the area.

I hope this will remind you to be thankful for something in your life. I’m truly blessed just to be alive and healthy! I’ve had an interesting year but I thank God for providing me the means to have a great life. I wish you all a great holiday and remember to give THANKS!

Remember to use ebates.com to make your online purchases for money back. I have almost $20 dollars pending from my past online purchases.

My friend Judy and I had to do a shoe of the day picture.

Thanks to the Wardrobe Boutique for letting me host my birthday and for this Lilly bag! I wish I had more time to shop but I did manage to pick up this grey J.crew cardigan.
