Top apps for your 20’s

Hello blog readers,

Now that I’m in my late 20’s I’ve learned so much from my experiences and I’ve grown so much professionally and personally. I definitely give some credit to modern technology for helping along the way. I’ve never underestimated the value of technology especially as a millennial. There is an app for everything and I’ve used them as a tool to make adulting less painful. I have a list of my top apps that have helped me in all aspects of my life.
I hope you find any of these apps worthwhile!

1) CreditKarma- Most people have this app already but if you don’t you really need this thing. It will connect to every financial account under your name and you can see your credit scores for FREE.

2) Mint- In addition to CreditKarma, you can link all of your billing accounts you can set goals to pay off your student loans or credit card debt. You can see how long it’ll take you to pay off a certain account if you pay monthly. You’d be surprised how much faster you can pay off your debt with adding an additional $10 a month.

3) Do you have 3,000 unread emails from subscriptions? I know I do. will connect to your email account and and tell you how many subscriptions you have and asks you if you want to unsubscribe, keep it or send it to the roll where you can access it later instead of it going into your inbox. This is a great way to manage your email account but it may even help you resists those email alerts for retail sales when you’re trying to save up for that next vacation.

4) SKIMM- This is my friends’ favorite. Do you want to keep with current events but the news is depressing or boring? Yas, get SKIMM and every morning before work, you will get the chance to read a summary of today’s news in a witty, easy way to understand! So now you’ll have something to talk about in those awkward elevator moments.

5) Onmogul- This website is AMAZING. Ladies, this is a great one for you. If you have an entrepreneur spirit or even if you just need some encouraging words or stories to get you empowered, then this community is for you. There’s a discussion board but also a place to take classes! You can take classes from topics that range from personal finance to relationship advice for only $10/month.

6) Ebates- Are you an online shopping junkie? Buy online and get cash back. It sounds too good to be true but in reality, I’ve had this account for almost a year and it works! I think my next paycheck should be about $34. You can get anywhere from 2%-10% back in my purchase. When your check is ready, you can have them mail it to you or you can donate your earnings.

7) Poshmark- Yes, buy and sell clothes online. It’s a virtual thrift shop. So easy to use. I’ve made over $2,300 in sales over the past year and a half. Of course the more input, the more output you get from it. Sign up with code BFGQW to get $5 off your first order.

8) Camera+ Lighting is everything for the best result of a great photo. I’ve tried many apps to lighten my photos but I always come back to Camera+ because of their night, flash, and backlight options.

9) My Fitness Pal and MyPlate- My biggest challenge with my health is keeping this weight off. As you know, when you get older your metabolism slows down so it’s time to get eat right. I track my calories and it has been really helpful for me to understand what I’m consuming. I know my Fitness Pal is the more popular app but I like using MyPlate because of the simplistic interface.

You would think I would have a 10th one to make it even but I literally couldn’t think of anything else. Let me know what your favorite apps are.

How to be preppy on the golf course

Hello Blog Readers!

I’ve been meaning to this for a long time now so I’m sharing my tips on how to be preppy at the golf course. I’ve been golfing for a few years now and I’m finally getting the hang of it. Believe it or not but there are very few trendy golf lines for women. So hopefully my guide will help especially for beginners!

1. Top – I like to keep the top plain and simple but also light and dri-fit especially for those hot summer days. I use Nike or Lady Hagen tops you can find at Dick’s or any sporting store.

2. Bottoms- I need a pop of color so I usually go for bright colors and patterned bottoms. I typically wear bermuda shorts, skorts, or skirts. I like wearing any Lilly Pulitzer shorts or performance bottoms from Vineyard Vines. If you want trendy golf skirts check out Sydney Elizabeth.

3. Hat- I try to wear a hat as much as possible. I would typically wear Vineyard Vines, Titleist, or Nike. I like to wear a visor so it doesn’t mess up my hair. Always bring a hair tie and avoid white hates if possible. (unless you want it to turn green and yellow)

4. Sunglasses- I rock my raybans throughout the course. I like to wear them on my head when I swing because it actually helps me to keep my head down.

5. Shoes- It is very important to wear golf shoes. You can buy shoes with spikes buy them spikeless. I personally like the spikeless ones because they are more comfortable to me especially when you’re walking off the course and to your car. Nike has some awesome flyknit golf shoes but if you’re on a budget, FootJoy is a good brand.

6. Golf Balls- I don’t mind using any type of golf balls because I’m no pro but I do prefer the supersoft Callaway balls because they’re not too expensive. You can also customize titleist golf balls by putting your monogram on it.

7. Tees- I still get made fun of using these plastic tees because it’s such a newbie thing to use but they have lasted me many rounds without breaking!

8. Gloves- Gloves are so important. I have three pairs in my bag because they wear quickly especially the all white ones. Footjoy gloves have lasted the longest for me but if you want funky patterns, check out Gloveit.

Best of luck!

Treat Yo self Galentine’s Day!

I combined two of my favorite events from Parks and Rec:

Galentine’s Day and Treat Yo Self day.

I figured why not do something that would be fun, relaxing, and serves as a reminder to put yourself first. It’s a Spa Party!

My gal pals and I had brunch, mimosas, lots of chocolate and other treats in addition to a manicure, pedicure, and a facial station.

Let’s start with the party favors.

Kate Spade Treat Yourself gift bags were perfect for this occasion. I believe they were on sale last year. I bought a mini manicure kit for each person to use today and take it home.

The spread:
My friend Liza made Treat yo self cookies!

I had a waffle bar to channel my inner Leslie Knope.

The gold sequince tablecloth is the best thing I’ve purchased in a while. I got it from Amazon.

Then we drink wine and mimosas!

I got this awesome brass bar cat for $50 at a vintage store.

That’s me drinking from the jumbo size wine glass that I bought from Ross for only $10.

 Station #1: Facial

Girlfriends indulged in facial masks, pore stripes, and facial wipes with a vanity mirror to take home.

Station 2: Mani&Pedi

From paraffin to nail power file, the mani station for two was eqipped with everything you would need for a great manicure.

The pedicure station had two chairs and two feet spa massager. Thanks to my co-worker, there was even two remote controlled chair massager cushions.

 Items at station 2:

-nail files

-nail buffers

-bath salts

-nail polish

-hand lotion

-foot scrubs and more…

I want to thank all of my friends for coming to the Galentine’s Day Spa party! I hope you all remember to Treat Yo Self! Galentine’s Day is a great time to reflect and celebrate being a woman.

Sunday Funday

Sundays are the best days to relax and do what makes you happy. My friend Sara and I have been trying to go thrifting together for the longest. So we finally decided last minute to go to The Golden Nugget flea market in NJ. We both scored a few items just enough to fit in her car. I can spend all day at this awesome vintage flea market. We went at 9 am which made parking easy and traffic was light. We were done by 11:30 and decided to get brunch in New Hope, PA. I’ve lived in Philly all of my life but have never been to New Hope. It is the most adorable, historic, scenic town I’ve been to in PA. We ate at Karla’s and both had eggs Benedict. I had the smoked salmon and Sara had the grilled veggie with chipotle sauce. Of course we had to share it. Thanks so much Sara for bringing me here!

I bought this from the Golden Nugget for $35. Can’t wait to sand & paint it for my next DIY project.

New Hope, PA -my photos doesn’t do it justice. It’s a must visit place.

Thanks for reading! I hope you all had a great Sunday too.

Lilly Pulitzer Warehouse Sale

Hi everyone,

So, you might’ve heard of this Lilly Warehouse sale. I’ve never been to it even though I’m like 30-40 minutes from Oaks, PA. I’m not a fan of crowds but I wanted to just experience it. I didn’t camp in front of target for the lilly release either. If I want something, I’m sure I’ll find it. I always find discounted lilly at the thrift store, on poshmark, or at their KOP store.

It was the last day so I decided to go. It opened at 8 and I arrived around 7:20. There were at least 200 people in front of me. Time went by fast and I didn’t think I was going to get in right away but I was shopping by 8:10. They kept the line moving which was great.

I went straight for the dresses pass all of the sweaters and cardigans. I knew what I wanted already. There were plenty of small sizes but not many M-L left. The fitting room was interesting, it was like a girl’s locker room. I was pretty calm and I took my time. I didn’t need to push and everyone was nice. It’s not as crazy as the media made it out to be. I left by 9:15 and by that time there wasn’t really a line. There were plenty of stuff. Granite, I’m sure there were more scarves and accessories on the first day which I wasn’t surprise about. Prices are decent, dresses were $69-89, shorts were $50, and shirts varied.

I definitely recommend finding out through social media whether or not to go. Look up the hashtag lillywhs, or like their facebook page for instant updates. I saw other people’s haul and I knew what I wanted. I thought it was worth it but only because I don’t live too far. I do think the August online sale is better. Thanks to my fellow bloggers for giving me a heads up because I knew what to expect and I wasn’t disappointed. I hope you all had a good time and got some good stuff. As for those out of towners, I hope you all spent some time in Philadelphia.

Memorial Day weekend

Hello blog readers,

Happy Memorial Day weekend!

It’s not just a time to go on vacation or another holiday of great sales. It’s important to think about the people that died serving our country. I give our armed forces the utmost respect for what they have done for us.

Even though Memorial Day is about remembering the people that have lost their lives, you can honor our current troops by sending them a coke.

Kroger co. will send a coke for every click to this link. You can also find the link there to customize your own coke.

Please continue to share and spread the word. Have a fun & safe holiday weekend!

Accessorize your handbag

Do you have scarves or patterned handkerchieves laying around for no reason? I have a few that are too short to wrap around my neck but I’ve kept it just waiting for something to use it for. This might not be for everyone but I think tying it on your handbag can give your purse more character to express your individuality.

I put together a few examples of how you can accessorize your handbag using those scarves. Check out what you have and I think you can really make your purse your own. So I hope you guys find this useful or at least think about ways you can use those unused scarves.

Space saving tips

So I’m sure everyone is on Pinterest and we love it. I’m not sure how I lived life without it for so long. I picked my favorite space saver tips for my closet. Check them out!

Use a lid rack to line up your clutches and wallets to display and neatly organize. You can pick one up from your local target or check out amazon for less than $15.

I use a pant/skirt hanger for my boots. I don’t have enough room on my shoe rack but this will help keep your boots organized. I got this hanger set from Ross but you can find them at Marshalls or TJ Maxx for less than $10.

This last one is a little, for lack of a better word, ghetto. I have tons of these hangers from Target and I really don’t want to clutter my closet with all of these hangers so I found a way to increase space! Get soda/beer tabs and connect your hangers vertically. It’s best to organize by color. It made me realize that I have way too many of the same shirts.

Share some of your space saving ideas, I’m always looking for better ways to utilize the space I have.
