Bowtiful outfit

I’m obsessed with anything off shoulder but an off shoulder shirt with a bow is the best thing ever.

Top: ASOS l Skirt: J.Crew Factory l Tights: J.Crew Factory

For sizing reference, the shirt and skirt are both size 4. I’m usually smaller on top but the size 4 shirt fits perfectly. So $59.00 is a lot to spend on a shirt but if you’re a student sign up for unidays and get 10% off at ASOS, Urban Outfitters, Toms, ModCloth, 15% off at Ann Taylor and more.

I’ve been using this for years and it’s free. Sign up here!

Accessorize your handbag

Do you have scarves or patterned handkerchieves laying around for no reason? I have a few that are too short to wrap around my neck but I’ve kept it just waiting for something to use it for. This might not be for everyone but I think tying it on your handbag can give your purse more character to express your individuality.

I put together a few examples of how you can accessorize your handbag using those scarves. Check out what you have and I think you can really make your purse your own. So I hope you guys find this useful or at least think about ways you can use those unused scarves.

Kendra Scott earrings

My first pair of Kendra Scott earrings was on sale at Nordstrom. However, emerald is the only color left for $31.20.

(null)

I like them but they are heavy or maybe I have weak ear lopes. The quality is great and it’s the perfect accessory to dress up an outfit.
I am sad it didn’t come with the Kendra Scott jewelry bag.

Learn to love layers…

If you can learn one thing from my blog, it should be about layering. Not only it is warm but layering can make your outfit less basic.

You don’t need to buy a whole new wardrobe, all you have to do is learn how to combine and add layers to your outfit. Spend some time to mixing up your clothes. I don’t usually wear just a button up shirt. I like to throw on a sweater, a vest or an exposed undershirt. Adding another layer of clothing can change your look completely.

Here is an example:

A plain J.crew chambray shirt: (every girl should have one)

(null)

I added an old navy striped turtle neck shirt underneath.

(null)

As for my last layer, I added my herringbone vest. Or you can add a sweater.

It looks better when you layer your clothes to make it stand out or if you just want a different way to wear the clothes you already have.

Galentine’s Day!

Happy early Galentine’s Day! (2/13)

It was a successful brunch with my friends. It is a time for us to celebrate women. We had brunch at a tea room called “A Taste of Britain.” The table was located in the back so we had a little more privacy. We had girl talk over scones, tea, and wine.I’m glad I decided to host a Galentine’s day event because we should remember to compliment and appreciate instead of constantly gossiping and judging each other. I hope this will inspire others to do the same!

I used a word search generator to personalize these place mats for my ladies. I chose six adjectives to best describe each girl.

I kept it simple for the goodie bags. On each of the bags, I printed my favorite selfie of each girl taken from their instagram. Inside, I put together a mixed cd of 14 top girl songs, one facial mask packet, a highlighter (for the word search) and lip balm. I want to also mention that it was very difficult to find songs that empower women or about friendship. Some of the songs on the cd include, Spice Girls- Wannabe, TLC- No scrubs, Beyonce – Run the World (girls), etc.

A big thanks to all of my wonderful friends that put up with my antics now and over the years. I would have never been able to get through life without them. I value all past, present, and future friendships because I’m a better person with every influence.

Remember to show how much you appreciate the women in your life! Also, shout out to Amy Poehler for creating a funny but meaningful message through this idea of Galentine’s Day.

J.Crew Scallop dress – four ways

My favorite dress is now restocked at J.crew factory. It’s available in red or navy. This season’s style is a little different than the one I have from last year. The neckline is higher and the back drops lower. Nonetheless, it’s a classic, timeless style that you can find any occasion to wear it. I’m going to style it four ways I would wear this dress inspire some ideas on where and how to wear this dress. (And to justify your purchase)

(null)

1) A night out: Blazer
I used a bold color to make the outfit stand out. The gold accents really compliments the pink and balances the black.

(null)
Blazer: Forever21 | Clutch: Lilly pulitzer | Shoes: Jack Rogers | Necklace: Forever21

2) Work: Belt
This look is sophisticated for work depending on your occupation. I would wear this to maybe a special event at work since I’m in a business casual environment. The length of this dress can be tricky especially if you have long legs. I’m only 5’3 so it’s easier for me to get away with it.

Belt: H&M | Clutch: Tory Burch | Shoes: Express

3) Date night: Simple accessories
This is for a dinner in the city. I don’t wear heels but this would be the perfect occasion to wear nude heels. A statement necklace and a bright clutch can make this simple outfit a nice date night.

Necklace: Forever21 | Clutch: ASOS | Flats: J.crew Factory

4) Casual day: Button down shirt

So I’ve seen this people wear a classic powder blue shirt on the inside on the dress but I’m not sure how I feel about it. I wanted pattern and gingham is perfect but even a chambray shirt will work too. This is perfect for a shopping day, a day date, or brunch with your friends.

Shirt: Old navy | Purse: Kate Spade | Shoes: Jack Rogers
